The Japa Phenomenon may not be the reason employees are leaving your organization

Because they didn’t want to lose their jobs, people used to put up with toxic work environments and bosses in the past. This is absolutely wrong and shouldn’t be encouraged because no one should stay in an environment that is stifling, overbearing, and plagued with negativity.

However, in recent years, employees have recognized that their mental health comes first, and they will quit no regardless of how much compensation is offered in workplaces as such. Many toxic bosses and organizations have been exposed by some, utilizing the advantage of social media, and ruining brands that have developed for years.

Reports have shown that people leave organizations mostly because they do not like the work, leadership, and management styles of their bosses, not because they do not like the organizations.

The effect of negative reviews and high turnover rates on organizations cannot be over-emphasized- from decreased productivity, increased recruitment costs, avoidable time spent on training new employees, and reduction in sales to the unnecessary pressure placed on the existing staff and the low employee morale.

Do you have a system in place to identify and manage toxic managers in your organization? Do your employees see the work environment as a happy place? Do your managers possess the required leadership behavioural competencies to lead their teams?
